About the course

Gain the practical skills and confidence to lead engaging, fun kids yoga classes through this 50-hour accredited CPD training. It blends essential in-person experiential learning with flexible online self-study to build adaptable teaching skills. Explore creative practices, playful techniques, and master the developmentally responsive approach. We will be joined by specialist guest experts to help us focus on areas including adapting yoga for neurodiverse children, and for those with anxiety, ADHD, and ASD. Key learnings include how creativity can support children’s mental health, and how to share yoga in an inclusive way. An in-depth printed manual for you to keep and refer back to is included as part of the course.

WHEN + WHERE?

This Kids Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher Training is an in-person course, with one online module and 7.5 hours of pre-recorded self study preparatory modules. 

In preparation for the training, participants will complete 7.5 hours of pre-recorded, self paced lectures and 8.5 hours of experiential assignments and reading. The online materials explore yoga and creativity, child development, mindfulness, compassion, and specialist topics such as yoga for anxiety and ADHD, alongside recorded children’s classes for different age groups.

  • Live Online: Thursday 26th March : 18:30-20:30

  • In person: Thursday 23rd April – Sunday 26th April. The days will run 10:00-17:30.

The in-person modules are held at a studio within the Bussey Building, Peckham Rye that we use for our trainings. Please check-in at Yogarise Peckham and you will be directed where to go.

Meet your teacher

Ayala Homossany

Ayala Homossany, founder of Enchanted Wonders and Ayalayoga, is a Senior Yoga Teacher Trainer, Yoga Therapist, and Lecturer and Supervisor at The Minded Institute. With over two decades of experience, she brings a trauma-sensitive and creative approach to sharing yoga and mindfulness with children and families.

She is the co-author of Yoga Therapy for Complex Trauma (Singing Dragon, 2025) and co-creator, with Melanie Cooper, of Enchanted Rest – Yoga Nidra for Children, an on-demand course introducing rest and imagination as vital tools for emotional wellbeing. With a background in dance, visual communication design, and yoga therapy, Ayala’s teaching celebrates curiosity, creativity, and compassion as pathways to connection and growth, inspiring both teachers and children to explore yoga with openness and joy.

Who is this Kids Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher Training for?

This 50-hour accredited training is designed for a diverse range of professionals dedicated to working with children and youth. The course is suitable for:

Is the Kids Yoga Teacher Training accredited?

Yes! Upon completion of all the training hours, prep work, and homework, you will be awarded a certificate for 50 hours CPD (Continuing Professional Development) with Yoga Alliance US – YACEP.

Can I complete the Kids Yoga Teacher Training online?

No, the core training days require in-person attendance. The in-person sessions offer rich opportunities for hands-on, experiential learning and real-time exploration. The depth of the course unfolds through this shared practice, making in-person attendance essential.

What is the timing of the course?

Is a payment plan available for the course fees?

What does the Online Self-Study Module involve?

The preparatory self-study module consists of 7.5 hours of pre-recorded, self-paced lectures and 8.5 hours of experiential assignments and reading. The online materials lay the foundation for the course, exploring topics such as yoga and creativity, child development, mindfulness, compassion, and specialist topics like yoga for anxiety and ADHD, alongside recorded children’s classes.

What happens during the Live-Online Introductory Session?

This session is mandatory and will be held on Thursday 26th March (18:30-20:30). It is an opportunity to discuss the course structure, review the required assignments, receive an introduction to the ECYC Teacher Training, and have your questions answered. We will also explore how creativity, mindfulness, and developmental awareness weave together in sharing yoga with children.

Can I bring my children to the training?

While children cannot attend the main training sessions, there is a special opportunity to bring your child along on Saturday and Sunday morning. Participants will lead a shared practice with the children as part of their experiential learning, followed by a family yoga session demonstrated by Ayala.

Learning outcomes

The Empowering Children through Yoga and Creativity (ECYC) Teacher Training is designed to develop the confidence and creativity needed to share yoga and mindfulness with children in ways that meet their needs. By the end of the course, you will possess a clear, developmentally responsive framework for nurturing resilience and regulation.

You will master the art of adapting yoga and creative practices for children across all age groups (2–5, 5–8, and 8–12 years), including therapeutic breathwork and movement. Crucially, you will integrate these skills using practical, experience-based tools and adopt a child-centred, trauma-sensitive approach to create safe, inclusive environments, ensuring your teaching arises from authenticity and compassion.
