4-BEAT
4-Beat is a dynamic vinyasa flow style of yoga born out of the Rocket Yoga system. The class is designed to challenge the body while quietening the mind through a series of varied yoga postures, aligning breath and movement, to the slow, regular beat of the music.
4-Beat is a practice open to all, from the adventurous beginner to the well-seasoned, experienced yogi. There will be options for all levels to explore so you can ‘take it up’ or ‘take it down’ as you like. Whichever you choose, when the breath is truly in sync, there is a power within, and externally in the room – a build of prana, life-force, collective energy, something greater than yourself.
ARM BALANCES + INVERSIONS
Join us for this specialist arm balances and inversions class and get to grips with going upside-down and on your hands. With carefully curated drills pulled from multiple disciplines, your teacher will guide you through a workshop-style class focused on yoga inversions (such as handstand and headstand), arm balances and the trickier transitions you might find in your yoga practice. Want to feel strong and well-balanced? This class is for you.
Suitable for all those with a regular yoga practice.
ASHTANGA
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a practice that links breath and movement in a continuous flow. This class is based on the Ashtanga Primary Series – a dynamic sequence of postures practiced with focused breathing techniques, designed specifically to align the body and strengthen the nervous system, while cultivating a feeling of inner peace and leading to a natural state of meditation. This is an open level class, and everyone is welcome, however some yoga experience is recommended.
Please note: Hannah Whittingham’s classes will be taught to music.
BABY & ME
An inclusive class for parents, caregivers and babies, Baby & Me combines nursery rhymes, massage, and gentle yoga. This is a perfect opportunity for sharing experiences and knowledge, to make new friends and connect with other parents and caregivers – and realise you are not alone!
As well as yoga, you’ll learn baby massage techniques to aid with digestive issues, constipation and colic; relaxed walking and holds to calm and settle your baby; and serene relaxation techniques to develop emotional awareness as well as a positive use of voice while communicating with your baby. Feel free to nurse, change, bounce, feed and walk around.

New to yoga? Come to one (or two, or three…) of our beginners classes to get your yoga practice started and feel comfortable in a studio environment.
This class will demystify some of the key postures (and Sanskrit terms) of yoga while taking things at a slower, manageable pace, so you can learn some of the basics, before exploring other classes on our schedule.
We also offer beginners workshops and courses for a more in-depth introduction to yoga – keep your eyes peeled or ask reception.
Beginners’ Yoga in Peckham (and Online) is at 10:00-11:00 on Saturday.

Breathwork
In this class we will be exploring conscious, connected, and therapeutic breathing. This powerful breathwork technique is designed to help unlock and release trapped emotions. We will start and end the session with an opportunity to relax and allow you the space to connect with the mind and body.
Connect with higher aspects of yourself, entering a meditative state for guidance and insight during this transformative 90 – minute breathwork experience.
Please note: This is not a classic meditation session – Breathwork involves a powerful breathing technique that can trigger altered states of consciousness leading you into positive change – if you have any questions please reach out to kerry@togetherwebreathe.co.uk
This type of Breathwork may trigger powerful physical and emotional responses. If you have any underlying conditions, please consult your GP before practicing.

GONG bath / Group Sound Meditation
Relax into the healing vibrations of sound as you let go and detach from ‘chitter-chatter’ of the mind. Gong meditation and sound therapy, has been around for thousands of years as a way of healing.
Producing a sound wave, the vibration of the gong and other instruments create the perfect calm, safe and welcoming space to relax. You will be guided to a restful, meditative state using a variety of sounds. Stimulating frequencies create parasympathetic reactions that allow us to clear blockages whether emotional, mental, or physical. Work with such sound tools can be detoxing, balancing, de-stressing and uplifting.
Craig Rogerson of ‘Soundworks’ offers monthly Group Sound Meditation at our Queen’s Park studio. Some teachers use gong or sound to the end of their yoga asana classes, or keep an eye on our workshops page for special events.
HATHA
Hatha is a branch of yoga designed to increase self-awareness through systematic exploration of the physical body.
In Sanskrit ‘ha-tha’ means ’sun-moon’, which indicates how Hatha Yoga synergistically unites and balances these two energies. The literal translation of Hatha is ‘force’ or ‘effort’, which alludes to the dedication to practice and the physical techniques used within this tradition, including asana (poses), pranayama (breathing), and stillness practices like yoga nidra and meditation.
Through this practice, you learn to find balance – not just standing on one leg, but the balance between effort and ease in each posture.
Hatha yoga is a great place to build foundations for your yoga practice as well as your life. Suitable for all abilities.
HATHA / Scaravelli Inspired
This Hatha/Scaravelli Inspired Yoga class focuses on somatic movements and asana (postures) using the ground, breath, spine, expansion, and space.
The practice begins on the ground where Lara will guide you away from ‘doing’ movement but rather sensing and feeling into ‘being’ movement, opening up sensory awareness and new neurological pathways through the body.
Exercises on the ground invite spirals, rotations, circular and sliding, gliding movements to reduce myofascial holding and then you are guided from the ground into an intelligent asana sequence to integrate, strengthen, elongate and bring a new found vitality and radiance to your inner structures.
Your mind becomes calm, focused and body free of tension. It’s a deeply intelligent, nurturing and grounding practice allowing you to get in contact with your true inner nature without imposing outer layers or a conditioned mind. A truly mediative and transformational experience.
Open to all levels.
Iyengar
B.K.S. Iyengar’s method of practising and teaching Hatha yoga developed from a profound understanding of the subtleties of yoga asana. Concentrating on building strong alignment, Iyengar yoga ensures a strong, safe and progressive exploration of the asana (physical poses).
Props such as belts, bricks, wall ropes and blankets are used to help students perform the correct actions as they develop their practice. Classes tend to be slower paced, but physically demanding, with a focus on alignment and the transformational potential of the asanas.
Suitable for all, but particular attention to attending the appropriate level is recommended. The Iyengar Yoga levels are as follows:
LEVEL 1: A great place to start your Iyengar Yoga journey. Level 1 is perfect for beginners and those wanting to get back to basics. This level will focus on fundamental principles of posture and sequence. Please attend 6 months of Level 1 before moving on to other levels.

MINDFULNESS
Join us for a 30-minute weekly mindfulness practice at Yogarise Peckham and Online. No experience necessary. Book online, or just drop-in!
Mindfulness is known to improve concentration, reduce stress and improve sleep; it can help us ‘come to our senses’ and observe things as they are without judgement. So much of life is spent in autopilot which maintains habitual patterns in our thoughts, behaviours, and emotions.
Rather than spiralling off in our usual ways we will practice the simple – but by no means easy – ancient art of seated meditation; focusing on the breath, bodily sensations and sounds around us. You can sit on a bolster, yoga mat or request a chair. You can practise in whatever you are comfortable in (jeans etc) doesn’t have to be yoga wear 🙂
If you are at home, you could practise lying down on your mat or bed, or sit in a chair or bolster/brick with blankets. We will take five minutes to set up and five minutes to debrief at the end.
Total beginners welcome. Unfortunately we cannot admit latecomers.
PILATES
Pilates works the entire body through a series of repetitive mat-based exercises, helping to improve strength, postural alignment and muscle balance.
The teacher adapts the class, and gives a variety of options, for students of different levels.

POSTNATAL YOGA
Postnatal yoga is the perfect way to rebalance your body and rejuvenate energy after giving birth, helping to strengthen the pelvic floor and rebuild core awareness. These classes are a great opportunity to connect with other mums and discuss common concerns as well as engage with your baby by sharing your postnatal yoga class. Feel free to nurse, bounce, feed and walk around as needed.
The class is open to mothers 6 weeks post-birth (or until ‘signed off’ by a GP) and to all pre-crawling babies.

Reformer Pilates makes use of a very unique piece of exercise equipment comprised of a sliding carriage, springs, handles, and foot-bar to provide resistance against each motion.
If you are new to Reformer, or want to get back to basics, please attend the Fundamentals sessions (at least 5) to familiarise yourself with the machine before trying out other styles on our schedule. Please read the class description on the Streatham timetable and your teacher bio to find out more about your class style.
Please consult your GP before attending warm yoga.
YIN
Yin Yoga is a quiet, slow and meditative practice of mostly floor based and seated postures. Yin stimulates the body’s connective tissues and nourishes the joints, providing the perfect balance to more dynamic yoga styles. Props such as bolsters blankets and blocks may be used.
Unlike restorative yoga (where the body is completely ‘held’), Yin yoga can sometimes feel quite intense as the body gradually opens through holding postures for an extended period.
Some Yin Yoga classes end with seated meditation to leave you grounded and restored, or Yoga Nidra, breathwork or sound bath for the ultimate in relaxation.
Suitable for all abilities.
We also offer Yin Yoga Teacher Training Courses for teachers and regular practitioners. Please see our Training page for more info.
YIN-YANG
This class balances a flowing and dynamic vinyasa practice (Yang), that builds in intensity and heat, with long holds and meditative seated/lying postures (Yin).
Yin-Yang is a fusion of Indian and Daoist yoga designed to stimulate the flow of energy through the body.
Some Yin-Yang yoga classes will end with a blissful gong bath.
Suitable for all levels.
YOGA NIDRA
Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation that brings you into a state of conscious rest. Often practised lying down, it unwinds the nervous system and induces complete physical and mental relaxation.
Yoga Nidra is particularly effective at combatting insomnia, fatigue, and restlessness.
Yogarise offers Yoga Nidra in both regular classes and workshops. You can also find it combined with other styles such as Gentle Yoga + Yoga Nidra.
Yogasana
Yogasana is a dynamic and stimulating yoga practice inspired by the philosophy of yoga and movement with breath.
You can expect philosophy and meditation combined with challenging asanas to help create a feeling of deep inner peace.
You will work hard, to the steady beat of your breath, and have the opportunity to play with some more advanced variations. This class may be taught to music.
All levels welcome.
